After starting off as an assistant to a wedding coordinator and consultant for the better part of four years Jessica Penner had found that she had fallen in love with photography from shadowing the photographers on the formal photoshoots. She then stumbled on the chance of a lifetime to travel to Guatemala during Spring Break 2006. She got to meet many of the most loving, caring, and compassionate children she had ever met. Upon coming home and looking at the pictures that she had taken while out there, it really sealed the deal for her. This is what she is meant to do. With no other career can you capture something so precious, and priceless. Something that could never be put into words. Therefore, Black Out Photography was born– Hoping to bring to life what was once in the dark and share it with the world. Whether it be a newborn baby, an overjoyed new couple, a bunch of children and their smiling faces, an artist or a model whos dream is finally unfolding; whatever it may be, Jessica wants to be there to capture that moment in time forever the best way that she knows how.
There are always people in your life that drive you to be the best that you can be. Her husband and best friend, Kevin, whom she married on January 27, 2007, is that source of strength for her–then on November 5th, 2008 they welcomed their daughter Chloe Marie into the world and into their hearts.

This small-town girl attended Prairie View School Of Photography here in Winnipeg and graduated with her certificate in Professional Photography. She loves taking photos of people and has an eye for capturing all the detail in a single moment. We are so excited to have added her and her talent to our team in the summer of 2010.
